A simple tutorial to use navigational aids (Navaids) to fly from Burgas to Istanbul.
- Start Flightgear with this command
fgfs --multiplay=in,< yourip >,5000 --multiplay=out,10,mpserver01.flightgear.org,5000 --callsign=protox --airport=LBBG - put on Radio Nav1 : 112.0 MHz (VOR BGS) and add Course: 114°
- put on Radio Nav2 : 112.5 MHz (VORTAC IST) and add Course: 178°
- Now you can start: Add power to the engine and climb to 500feet straight runway
- Put the machine on intercept course 110° and start the autopilot ([AP] button)
- put the climb rate at 500 fpm
- rotate the altitude button until it shows 2000 feet
- Push the NAV button to put the autopilot on intercept and follow course (114°)
- the Machine will intercept the course and follow it at altitude of 2000 feet.
- follow it until the second NAV shows that you are almost on course 178° for the LTBA
you can watch the progress on http://mpmap02.flightgear.org/ - Switch the two NAV Radios so that NAV1 is 112.50MHz on course 178°
- Follow it until you are 15Mi from the airport
- Switch the NAV1 Radio to 111.10 course 178.4
- Reset the autopilot and start it again .. then push the APR button .. the machine will intercept the Glideslope and follow it.
- 2Mi from the airport you can switch off the AP and land it yourself.
- Bravo .. now do that in reverse :-D
then you can adjust the autopilot ..
